INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2019
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2018
This On March 8th 2019 the world celebrate’s International Women’s Day.
2019’s International Women’s Day theme is #BalanceforBetter. The 2019 initiative is aimed at gender equality, a greater awareness of discrimination and a celebration of women's achievements, according to the International Women's Day website.
I have always admired women’s strength and perseverance. Our ability to adapt and power through whatever life throws at us.
It’s even more important to be a woman who supports , empowers and uplifts other women.
I have been inspired by the movement of women show up and share life’s message, how to advance in their careers and live prosperous and healthy lives.
I follow a group of women that are quietly leading this movement. Influencing in Color are 4 beautiful black women, mothers and soon to be wed influencers who share the joys of friendship and vibrate on the wavelength of power, community and friendship. The squad-quad’s diversity, beauty and authenticity is unmatched.
Lauren Napier Beauty has always been focused on empowering women. I see the Lauren Napier Beauty experience as an opportunity to highlight, inform and inspire others; especially women.
Throughout my life have had women lift me up and I have had the unfortunate experience of women tearing me down. I have always chosen to be the former. Reflect on your actions then choose who you want to be.
It was important to me to use my platform as a business woman to highlight other women who are working hard to carve out a place in the world for themselves. The 30 women featured on Lauren Napier Beauty : The Blog have all inspired me on their journey and my hope is that they inspire and enlighten the girlboss-worker bee in you too.
Fight for your rights: 2018 was an extraordinary year for women in politics. The freshman congresswomen have completely changed the white male dominated congress - for the better. These brilliant women are shaking up Washington in the absolute best way. Offering civics lessons in swift and sharp 180 characters with new approaches and dialogues on policy and point of view. “What a time to be alive!”
As we speak about impactful women and leadership, I am encouraged and awestruck by women of color like, Arlan Hamilton and Abyah Wynn are leading the charge in a space where white men make up 76% of the playing field in the VC sect and less than1% of black women receive investment. This is a subject that remains important to me as a woman carving out a space in the ironically male dominated corporate beauty industry.
The women of #MeToo and #TimesUp have changed the conversation about women, sex and power to the forefront. We are teaching and enforcing the real life concept that women are not toys or property and demand respect - or there will be consequences.
“We all move forward when we recognize how resilient and striking the women are around us.” - Rupi Kaur
Happy International Women’s Day to you all! ♀♀♀
