T R A N S - V I S I B L E

Two of my favorite TV series are on hiatus and I am counting down to the moments they are back on the air.

Euphoria on HBO and Pose on FX highlight the warm, colorful lives and experiences of LGBTQ communities. These series shine a spotlight on the beautiful truths and deeply degrading experiences. As these worthy people walk through our shared world it is so incredibly important to normalize and welcome the existence of this community.

I live in constant admiration and inspiration of LGBTQ community - the advocacy, love, comradery, heroic boldness and fearless desire to live in their truths and individuality.

There are many firsts and champions that we see thriving every day. I hope that one day we can focus fully on the rich stories being told and not be hung up on the sexuality or anatomy of the characters or actors.

I am so excited for this moment, I am so excited for the firsts, my wish is for people to continue to create a space where everyone can exist and tell stories that neutralize the fear and dissolve the hate and violence that accompanies what people fear and have an unwillingness to understand.

The black trans community makes history. I am so excited to see leadership and activism starting here. Fatal violence disproportionately affects transgender women of color, and the intersections of racism, sexism, homophobia, biphobia and transphobia conspire to deprive these good people of employment, housing, healthcare and other necessities, barriers that make them vulnerable. We must demand action and protection from our leadership and legislature - we all have to be a voice and allies for this vulnerable collective.

If you see this level of violence or discrimination taking place - take action. Contact the ACLU.

Covergirls! I love the way the mainstream periodical are highlighting the vital voices and experiences in the trans community. I may not be of the community but I am watching. Diversity and inclusivity is just that - EVERYBODY!

Anyone remember the MSNBC show “ So Popular” with Janet Mock? It was on of my faves!
